Kenya trailed with few moments after the kick-off courtesy of Chris Lubanga’s penalty.

Strathmore leo’s Fly half, Kenny Andola equalized for Kenya “A” with a penalty twenty minutes later and the scores were tied at 3-3.

Three minutes later, Uganda responded with massive pressure which won them a penalty. Kevin Makmot gave Uganda cranes a 6-3 lead.

Kenny Andola was proving to be a thorn in Uganda’s flesh as he kicked over another penalty to put the scores at 6-6.

KCB’s scrumhalf, Felix Wanjala gave Kenya an 11-6 lead with a superb try although Kenny Andola failed to add points as his conversion waved off the target.

Cyprian Kuto went over the whitewash to stretch Kenya’s lead to 16-6. His club mate Kenny Andola added points to take Kenya to an 18-6 half time lead.

Pius Ogena picked an injury which saw John Wandicho replace him. Uganda cranes coach made a technical substitution early in the second half which saw Wathum Syrus come in for Alex Mubiru.

Uganda cranes were on fire in the second half. They scored two two quick tries from Joseph Aredo and Scot Oluoch. Chris Lubanga’s kicks were good.

With less than 20 minutes to go, Uganda cranes were in complete control with 12 points being the difference between them and the hosts, (30-18).

Uganda went down to 14 men and Kenya quickly responded with a try and a conversion to reduce the gap to 30-25. Stafford Abeka scored the try and Kenny Andola converted.

Gerald Ssewankambo was named man of the match.

The first leg of Men’s Elgon cup tie in Nairobi ended 20-17 in favor of Kenya. Uganda won the 2nd leg match 30-25 , 47-45 on aggregate and they have been crowned as the 2015 Elgon cup winners.
