Rugby Sevens Playing Positions

These are the rugby sevens playing positions : prop, hooker , fly half, scrum half, center , winger, loose head , tight head.

Prop loose head - the prop forward in the front row of a scrummage who is nearest to the scrum half as the ball is put in.

Hooker - the player in the middle of the front row of the scrum, who tries to hook the ball.

Prop tight head - the prop forward supporting the hooker on the opposite side of the scrum from the loose head.

Scrum Half - a halfback who puts the ball into the scrum and stands ready to receive it again.

Fly half - a halfback who forms a link between the scrum half and the three-quarters mostly hits the kick offs.

Center - the second last attacking player on the wing.

winger - an attacking player on the wing.
