Springbok Sevens coach, Neil Powell named a strong squad that will take part in Dubai 7s and Cape Town 7s.

South Africa being the team to beat in Pool B, are grouped alongside newly-promoted Russia, Scotland and Samoa.

As expected, 2015 World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year, Werner Kok has been included in the Springboks squad.

Kyle Brown will skipper the Springboks in Dubai 7s and the inaugural Cape Town 7s tournaments.

Notable names missing

Branco du Preez has been sidelined because of a shoulder injury while Oupa Mohoje will be out of action for a minimum of 8 weeks after picking a knee injury.

Warren Whitely is also missing in the squad because of a calf injury.

Dubai 7s kicks off on 4 and 5 December while the inaugural Cape Town 7s will be a week later. (December 12 and 13) .
