Fiji sevens in Chile | Source FijiRugby
The Fiji Sevens men's and Women's rugby sides are currently in Santiago, Chile honing their craft in final preparations ahead of the Rio Olympics.
Chile is a high altitude region and by training at high altitudes, athletes aim to allow their bodies to produce extra red blood cells. Then, they head to a competition at lower elevations to take advantage of their changed physiology, which should last for 10 to 20 days.
The 2015-2016 HSBC World Rugby sevens champions will go into the Rio 2016 men's Rugby sevens Olympics as favorites.
