Head Coach Innocent Simiyu recalled Oscar Ayodi of Menengai Homeboyz Rugby to the Kenya sevens squad after he had missed the Sydney sevens and Wellington sevens legs of the HSBC World Rugby sevens series.

However, the team will travel without a Strength and Conditioning coach after Ian Gibbons resigned on 20th February 2017 siting Kenya Rugby Union failed to fuflil its promises.

Kenya sevens will face Russia, Argentina and New Zealand in pool C.
