Stanbic Bank signed a Ksh 3 million partnership agreement with Mwamba RFC on 2nd March 2017.
The deal is part of a partnership that will see Stanbic bank as the shirt sponsors of Mwamba RFC.
Through the deal , Mwamba and Stanbic bank will collaborate in promoting community health and well-being as part of the corporate social investment using rugby as a vehicle to reach out and educate the public.
Stanbic Bank Chief Executive Phillip Odera believes that supporting local clubs will help develop local talent and hence play a big role in sustaining the stellar performance of the Kenya Sevens rugby.
“Kenya’s sevens rugby star keeps shining on the global stage. However we cannot continue to perform on this global stage if we do not take care of grassroots where this talent is nurtured – the clubs. They are the hub of the sport and are at the center of focus for grass-roots development,” said Mr. Odera.
Alvas Onguru, Mwamba RFC President welcomed the deal by saying Stanbic Bank coming on board as shirt sponsor will play a big role in strengthening the image and stature of the club.
