Richard Sidindi Akoth passed away this morning after he drowned while swimming at the club grounds.

Known to many as Real Jadhah Power, Sidindi was Impala’s Fullback. He was a key player in both the fifteens and the sevens version of the game.

He last played for Impala Saracens on 23rd February 2019 where Impala lost to Homeboyz 18-11 in the Eric Shirley Shield (ESS).

On 1st October 2011, JKUAT Cougars lost their Captain James “Dibo” Nyongesa in a similar way after he drowned in a swimming pool in Mombasa during the Driftwood sevens tournament.

His death is a blow to the rugby fraternity.

We wish to express our sincere condolences to the family of Sidindi Akoth and Impala Saracens RFC.

May his soul rest in peace.
