The Kenya Lionesses rugby sevens team return to hunt for wins at the Campo Rugby Central grounds in Madrid, Spain with a vengeful mission against disrespectful opponents who gave Lionesses a sure run for their money last weekend, Kenya is set to re-kick off again against Russia at 1pm, take on Poland at 4.28 pm and close against USA at 6.50pm today.
The Kenya Lionesses national women’s rugby team seek to redeem name off a repeat kick off against Russia in a match Lionesses will need to find a way to revenge a 43-0 loss in the previous opener leg that gave Lionesses a heads up on the level of competition the Kenyan ladies had signed up for playing.
Last week it was the other five opponents who took the bragging rights courtesy of humbling Lionesses, but having learnt lessons, worked on the working game plan and combinations, Kenya seek to roar this weekend according to team manager Camilyne Oyuayo who believes this weekend the Lionesses need to win to prove their learning curve is on the right track.
“The first tournament offered us a chance to learn and we have worked on a few areas and we are definitely ready to roar again,” Lionesses team manager Camilyne Oyuayo told Mediamax in an interview with People Daily.
After Russia opener at 1pm, Lionesses will play Poland at 3.28pm and finish day one hunt against USA. Last week Lionesses first halves against USA and Poland saw Kenya concede the majority of the points but a good second half show held USA to within scoring a try each while Poland gained on a 10-0 half time lead to win 15-7.
On Sunday Lionesses will play France at 12.14pm before closing the round robin against Spain to determine their ranking opponent in the final match of the day to be played four hours later.
