The 2015 edition of the annual Diani Beach 5-a-side Touch Rugby Tournament - the seventh occasion of the event, and the brain Child of ex East African Tuskers veteran, George Barbour, owner of the Ali Barbour’s restaurant and the Forty Thieves Beach Bar in Diani – will be held next 3rd/4th/5th July 2015 on Kenya’s most famous beach: Diani beach.

It is the perfect venue for an annual Beach Touch Rugby Tournament that is not only hugely social but also very competitive with the standard of Rugby getting better and better.

The 2014 edition saw 28 teams from 4 nations with some top Kenyan teams competing, turn up for the event. Good rugby and non-stop entertainment kept everyone happy. The final was very exciting and Les Gaulois G claim the main cup after 6 years of near wins.

There are four categories of teams; men’s, women’s, mixed and veterans. A great competitive weekend of Touch Rugby with referees from Nairobi, Mombasa, and South Africa controlling the event meant that all went to schedule

The popularity of the tournament also serves as an economic boon to our area. The participation of 28 teams, coupled with their families and friends, brings an estimated 1,000 plus people to the area during the three-day event.

 Their aim for the 2015 edition is to enter the International circuit thus enabling them to get a wider international attendance for the event and our country.

"We strongly believe Kenya can make the International calendar in the coming months and we need all your invaluable support to add the exciting game of Touch Rugby to the East Africa Rugby fraternity. " Florence Bouchou told Shujaa Pride.

The event, which attracts both top Kenyans and international participants, exhibited 28 teams this year including Tanzania, UK, Uganda as well as teams from Nairobi, Nanyuki, Naivasha, Kijabi, Mombasa, Malindi and Diani. Age bracket is +21 and  50+ in age Rugby players with a large group of sportive supporters. It is an occasion for Rugby players to share an entertaining week-end and also for Coastal Residents to enjoy a top class entertaining week end.
