The first Leg of this year's Women's Elgon cup encounter between Uganda Lady cranes and Kenya lionesses at the RFUEA in Nairobi ended in a 5-5 stalemate.

Both teams found it hard to penetrate past each other's defence. Uganda Lady cranes took a first half 5-0 lead before Philadelphia Olando bounce back in the second half to bring matters to level.  

Kampala Thunderbird's Fullback, Rachel Babirye Kakaire gave Lady cranes the lead in the first half of the second leg of Elgon Cup tie played in Kampala Uganda.

Rachel's penalty was the difference at the break as the hosts went smiling with a 3-0 lead.

Half time talk by Kenya's technical bench (Kevin Wambua, Mike Shamiah and Sarah Otieno) boosted Kenya's confidence.

A superb try in the second half by Mwamba's right Winger, Sinaida Aura gave Kenya lionesses a breather and KCB's veteran Philadelphia Olando could not afford to miss the resulting conversion.

This was Sinaida Aura's First try in her rugby career in a Kenyan Jersy.

Babirye Kakaire was at it again with a successful converted penalty in the second half that brought matters to 6-7, Kenya leading.

Kenya beat Uganda 6-7, 11-12 on aggregate to clinch the 2015 Elgon cup Title.
