Kenya Lionesses will depart tonight ahead of the World Rugby 7s qualifiers to be held in Dublin on the 22nd and 23rd of August.

While having dinner yesterday with the Lionesses, Kenya Rugby Union CEO, Mr. Ronald Bukusi urged the team to do their best, be at their best behavior and wished them all the best ahead of their Dublin test.

The lionesses will be seeking to qualify as a core team in the Women’s World rugby 7s series. A place in the main cup finals will book them a slot as a core status team in the Women’s World Rugby sevens just as the men’s national team.

Kenya Lionesses Technical Bench led by Head coach Michael “El-Shams” Shamiah is optimistic of a successful outing. The team has been in training for more than a month.

Kenya Rugby Union Women’s Rugby coordinator, Mr. Nicholas Aballa Abok strongly believes that the ladies will impress at the qualifiers in Dublin, Ireland.

Kenya Lionesses 7s Assistant coach, Mablings will not fly with the team as he is currently in Rwanda with Laiser. (Laiser hill trounced Maseno 14-0 today in the Second match of the ongoing East Africa Secondary School games.)

The lionesses are seeded in pool B alongside China, Netherlands and Colombia.
