Kenya 7s Head coach, Benjamin Ayimba unveiled Shujaa squad that will take part in the 20th edition of Safari 7s.
Benjamin Ayimba expressed confidence with his selected team of twelve players. Ayimba feels like this tournament will be good for them to gauge and see where they are as they eye for qualification for the Rio Olympics to be held in Brazil next year.
“The young I have named here are pretty good at what they do and that is the reason why they are on the team. The ultimate prize is to win the Safari 7s tournament. When we go to the field, we will look for wins. We have asked our players to focus on trying to get themselves into the team because this is almost like a selection processes” Benjamin Ayimba said.
Shujaa will be captained by Andrew Noel Opede of KCB as the Kenyan Lomu ,Willy Ambaka will play for Shujaa for the first time in over two years.
Frank Wanyama, Philip Kwame, Alvin “Buffa” Otieno and Brian Tanga from Kabras who were outstanding in the national sevens series, complete the 12 man squad.
