The Lion meets the Crane this weekend at Kampala Uganda. The team has been in training since April and Simiyu Wangila sees “the Kenya vs Uganda match” as their first exam.
Simba lost to Uganda in last year's edition of the Elgon cup on aggregate. They had won the first leg encounter at Nairobi narrowly but lost to the Cranes in the return leg in kampala.
New talents on board, Simon Muniafu and Eric Kerre will make their debut for the Kenya fifteens team against Uganda Cranes.
Experienced Captain Brian Nyikuli will lead the boys in this match.
Charles Ngovi will not be with the team in Uganda as he is in France doing a coaching program with French federation.
“We have a number of experienced players in the team. We are not taking Uganda lightly. What we are going to do in Uganda is business and not a picnic.”
“We want to go, get that cup, come back to Kenya, travel to Brazil, Zimbabwe, Windhoek , face Uganda again and finish with two games against Hong Kong here in Nairobi.”
