The Kenya sevens women's rugby team lost all their pool matches at the RIO 2016 Olympic games Women's sevens to Spain, New Zealand and France.

The lionesses were off to a bad start going 52-0 down to New Zealand sevens women's rugby team in their first game and then lost 40-7 to France four hours later.

Kenya's first try at the Olympic games was scored at their second pool match against the French outfit courtesy of Celestine Masinde and then Janet Awino added the extras.

The lionesses were humbled 19-10 by Spain in a match that they were supposed to win by a great margin so as to stand a chance of advancing past the group stage.

Nziwa Doreen Remour and Musindalo Janet Okello each touched down for Kenya but Janet Awuor failed to add the extras.

Pla and Bravo crossed over the whitewash for the Spaniards while Garcia had two succesful conversions.
